Synopsis

DEVELOPMENT

After the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures obtained the freedoms to make a component film on Raj's life. She said, "Trusting that this film motivates more individuals, particularly youngsters to take up sports as a career."[1]

The biopic was intended to shoot in 2019. Raj said, "I figure Priyanka Chopra will be an extraordinary decision (to play me in the biopic). Our characters match a ton. I'm not a film buff, so I'd cherish the specialists to do their job."[2] Finally it was Taapsee Pannu who was picked to assume the part of Mithali Raj in the biopic named as Shabaash Mithu, to be coordinated by Rahul Dholakia in 2020.[3]

Readiness and training 

On 3 December 2019, agreeing with the birthday of Mithali Raj, the movie was settled with Taapsee Pannu in nominal job and Rahul Dholakia as chief. In January 2021 Pannu posted her preparation photographs from 3 December 2019, 29 January 2020 and 27 January 2021.[4] In March 2021, Taapsee Pannu again posted photographs of her prepration and preparing for the film. She prepared under Nooshin Al Khadeer, a previous cricket player and Mithali Raj's companion. The movie prior was expected to deliver on 5 February 2021 under heading of Rahul Dholakia, yet the shooting was deferred because of COVID-19 aftermath.[5]

In June Srijit Mukherji supplanted Rahul Dholakia as head of the film because of progress of schedule.[6][7]

Filming Edit

Head photography started on 5 April 2021[8] yet because of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown it was postponed. At long last shooting was wrapped up on 9 November. The film was shot on Lord's Cricket Ground in London,[9] and across homegrown and global areas to bring genuine feel of real occasions that occurred in Mithali's life.

RELEASE DATE

On 3 December coinciding with birthday of Mithali Raj releasing a teaser poster the producer announced the release date of the film as 4 February 2022.[11][12]
